The Oostdyck radar tower is positioned some 22 kms offshore in the southern part of the North Sea. It is unmanned, and since shortly it is not acccessible anymore. Reaching the tower is a challenge is there is always a strong tidal stream that tries to push us off our course. So in order to follow a traight line, we need to make compensations and paddle hard. Even then it takes us about 4 hours to get there, and another ' hours to get back safely. This time we paddled a bith further, to the nearest marker. That way we could stretch our legs and take a decent break. It is a remarkable but desolate place. No land can be seen from there, it's water all around.
